Tongass School started having Enrichment Day every Wednesday this year, and it has been a great success! Students pick programs that interest them, many programs are taught by volunteers from the community with expertise in an area. Programs offered so far include Drama, Technology, Roller Skating, Robotics, Yoga, Swimming, Guitar, Art, Dancing, Spanish, Video Production, Cooking, Sewing, and Tennis. Students rotate to new programs each trimester. Enrichment Day also allows the classroom teachers to have some quality time for strategy sessions and planning.
Technology students have been learning how to take pictures with a digital camera, and have been visiting the different programs to capture the fun. Many of the photos that have been on the front page of the Tongass School web page were taken by students.
