picture of kids on monkey bars The Tongass School is governed by a board elected by the school's staff and parents. The Tongass School is governed by a nine member Academic Policy Committee (APC) comprised of three staff, three parents, and three community members at-large elected to two year terms. The APC hires and evaluates the school's principal, approves the curriculum, and otherwise sets policies to ensure implementation of the school's charter consistent with the needs of the school's community. APC elections are held during spring conferences. The APC typically meets on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 6:30 p.m. The public and members of the school community are encouraged to attend.
